This was a great experience for me as it gave me the opportunity to work across different councils, finding ways to improve financial sustainability and value for money whilst also getting sponsored to study for CIPFA (Charted Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy) qualification.

When I became qualified as an accountant,  I moved back up North and worked as an auditor for one of the Big 4 firms but remained in the public sector as I’m passionate about this sector.

I also ran a property management business where I managed high quality shared accommodation houses for professionals working in the Preston area. Whilst I’ve enjoyed working with professional tenants, I felt it was time for me to follow my passion and use my management skills to help those less fortunate in the community and as such community interventions supported housing has given me the perfect opportunity to fulfill this.
